Tribunal Members

Members of the Tribunal are appointed by the Minister for Social Development, with appointments based on legal, professional and community expertise, as well as experience in disciplinary matters. The Tribunal includes representation from Māori and a range of ethnic and cultural groups across New Zealand. Members are appointed for a five-year term.

For each hearing, the Tribunal comprises a presiding legal member, three registered social worker members and a lay member, ensuring decisions are informed by legal, professional and public perspectives.
